Meechai: Yingluck can't appeal until new law is out | Bangkok Post: news

Former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra waves to supporters at the Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions on Friday. According to the constitution, an appeal can be filed 30 days after the ruling,” Meechai Ruchupan said on Tuesday. Although the 2017 constitution allows for an appeal, the procedures are outlined in the criminal procedures against politicians bill which has yet to be enacted, he added. Mr Meechai was referring to the rice-pledging programme case in which Ms Yingluck was criminally charged with neglect of duty. It is in the process of being sent to the prime minister to seek royal endorsement.
